FROM ACTING TO PERFORMANCE
Every week we will learn the basics of acting and performance. The aim of the workshop is to get to know the mechanics, possibilities and limitations of the theatre through various games and plays.
The first part will be dedicated to the classical/traditional way of acting: we will make up protagonists and realms, will experience true emotions. We will look for the ways to build expressive scenes, "live" persons as well as situations in which they can interact with each other.
In the second part we want to pose a question about the possibility of a theatre that is "different" - one without protagonists, with no narration, nor story, no spoken language, no live people. A theatre without theatre. We will overcome the frames of a "theatre play" and will work on a performance based not on narration, but pure action.
The last part will entail work on own projects, depending on participants' interests and willingness, to be presented either on stage or in the public space.
The workshop will be lead by Jan-Tage Kühling, associated with the departments of theatre directing and theatrology applied at the university of Giessen.
We invite everyone between 17-26 who has interest in theatre, the workshop is free with only one request for regular attendance. To apply please write at: info@kana.art.pl
