GAGARIN IN AFRIKA

Frank Wiemeyer travelled to Africa in 2006 and 2010. Being a water technology engineer he visited his friend who conducts construction projects of building water dams and schools. Frank Wiemeyer accompanied him during his work and in free time. The position of accepted guests in the community allowed him as a photographer to obtain a remarkable authenticity of his pictures. He photographed in the streets and up close. With certain intuition he responded both to the need of keeping the distance from private sphere, as well as to the invitation to bigger closeness. He reflects moments in a metaphorical way and pictures his protagonists preserving their personal characteristics.

His photos require an in-depth look and attention to details. Big format and unique quality of the images imprint a remarkable impression and pull the beholder into the atmosphere of each picture.
