ANI CHOYING DROLMA
Ani Choying Drolma was born in 1971 in Nepal. At the age of 13, she joined Nagi Gompa, a Buddhist nunnery. Her education and spiritual training was supervised by the renowned meditation master, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. From seeing Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche's altruistic life-style, she developed a sincere desire to use whatever capacities she has to benefit beings as much as possible.
Ani is commited to create more opportunities for nuns to study and to develop, she promotes the advancement of nuns, not only for their own benefit but because they will then be better prepared to serve and benefit others. She founded the Arya Tara School for girls from India, Nepal and Tybet. She also founded a 'Mother's Home' for homeless elderly women abandoned by their families, built a water reservoir in a village of Seti Devi, helps homeless street dogs and conducts a project of building a kidney disease ward in Kathmandu. She is an internationally reputed singer of Buddhist hymns and chants who is touring extensively in North America and Europe - all the proceeds from her concerts tours, CD sales and donation support her charitable work.
