THE WOODEN BOARD GALLERY
The 15th of March is an important date for the Kana Theatre, and the beginning of a new interdisciplinary project.
We have invited to participate painters and sculptors befriended with late Zygmunt Duczyński, the founder and director of Kana Theatre. Each artist will receive or choose wooden boards from our stage floor that were removed during its recent renovation. These boards will then become the subject of artistic work. Being the witnesses and carriers of memories of significant happenings and encounters, they will be preserved by undergoing artistic redefinition. They will be given a new quality by being introduced into a creator-object relation and then will come back to the Theatre as works of art, bringing in new energy.
The gallery will be available for viewing since July 2011 in the Kana Chamber.
