On the 6th of december we invite you the schloss broellin to the german-finnish project "Lumen - Reflections on the Nature of Light", which combines performance and visual arts with experimental music.
"Lumen-Reflections on the nature of light"
The german-finnish performance-project "Lumen" is dealing with the phenomenon of light as an artistic element in music and fine arts. The term "Lumen" is used when measuring light to denote its intensity. The project focusses on the multi-dimensional theme of light and researches the possibilities of visual interpretation of music as well as of a musical interpretation of light. The starting point for this project is the work "Lumen" (1975) by Franco Donatoni (1927-2000). The closely related composition "Treize couleurs du soleil couchant" by Tristan Murail (France) completes the cirlce of "classics" in this program. The music of the two young german composers Matthias Pintscher(*1971) and Sara Nemtsov(*1980) add further dephts to this work. The prepremier of two new audio-visual works will be the high point of the work on this project. The german Icelandic new-music group adapter joins during this project the group "Uusinta" from Helsinki and thus forms a icelandic-finnish-german group of 12 members. Togehter with composers Antti Auvinenem (Finnland), Sami Klemola(Finnland) and the in Finnland living icelandic artisit Halldór Úlfarsson the group consists alltogether of 17 people (supported by a choreographer and a light director). The german-finnish performance-project "Lumen" is dealing with the phenomenon of light as an artistic element in music and fine arts.
